Morgan Treasure, City of Kuna
Morgan Treasure is the Economic Development Director for the City of Kuna. Morgan has been the Director for Kuna since August 2021. Prior to that she served as the Downtown Manager for the City Of Nampa. She was also an instrumental staff member for the Economic Development Department and the Nampa Development Corporation. Morgan also serves as an IEDA Board Member.
Morgan says “we are very lucky in Kuna to be able to maintain our small-town charm, while still have easy access to the larger metro’s amenities.” One of the most recent successes in Kuna is the soon to open- Kuna Boys & Girls Club. “We are very excited to have an awesome place for children and youth to be able to utilize, especially during the summer months when there are fewer school-based activities to keep the kids busy.”
Some of the biggest challenges for Kuna like many of the smaller cities in the Treasure Valley are school capacities and workforce housing. She says “we’ve established a citizen’s advisory committee to spend the next year working on a new version of our future land use map to prepare for our Comprehensive Plan update in 2025 and we are hoping to be able to get a deeper understanding of solutions as we go through the process.”
Morgan is a fifth generation Idahoan. She has two daughters, Rei who is 20 and will be studying at BSU to get a teaching degree and Piper who is 14 and will be starting high school in the Fall. “One of the best things about living in Idaho is our access to all of the outdoor recreation. I love hiking and canoeing.” She also loves spending time in the garden and cooking and preserving all of the produce.
